Neutral Principles (“Process, Not Outcome”): A New Advocacy Organization

There’s a new advocacy organization in town, and it’s already making waves in the legal community. Led by my old friend and experienced appellate lawyer, Erik Jaffe, this group is set to change the game when it comes to advocating for justice and fairness in the legal system.

Erik Jaffe is not just any lawyer. He has a wealth of experience in appellate law, having argued cases in front of the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as numerous federal and state courts. He is also a colleague of mine at the law firm where we both work. So when I heard that he was starting a new advocacy organization, I knew it was going to be something special.

The name of this organization is “Neutral Principles” and it is aptly named. The core principle of this group is to focus on the process of law, rather than the outcome. This may seem like a simple concept, but it is one that is often overlooked in our justice system. Too often, the focus is on winning or losing a case, rather than ensuring that the process is fair and just for all parties involved.

Neutral Principles aims to change this mindset and bring attention to the importance of due process and neutral decision-making. The organization will work towards promoting the use of objective and unbiased criteria in legal proceedings, rather than allowing personal biases or political agendas to influence the outcome.

One of the main goals of Neutral Principles is to provide support and resources to lawyers and judges who are committed to upholding these principles. This includes providing training and education on how to apply neutral principles in their work, as well as offering a platform for networking and collaboration among like-minded individuals.

But the impact of Neutral Principles goes beyond just the legal community. The organization also aims to educate the public on the importance of neutral decision-making in the justice system. By raising awareness and promoting understanding of this concept, Neutral Principles hopes to create a more informed and engaged society that demands fairness and objectivity in the legal process.

I am personally excited about the potential of this organization and the positive impact it can have on our legal system. As a lawyer, I have seen firsthand the consequences of biased decision-making and the harm it can cause to individuals and society as a whole. I believe that Neutral Principles has the potential to bring about real change and promote a more just and fair legal system.

But this organization is not just about advocating for change, it is also about building a community of individuals who are passionate about this cause. Erik Jaffe has always been a leader and a mentor to many, and I have no doubt that he will continue to inspire and motivate others through Neutral Principles.

In conclusion, I urge everyone to support this new advocacy organization and its mission to promote neutral principles in the legal system. Whether you are a lawyer, judge, or simply a concerned citizen, your support and involvement can make a difference. Let us work together to ensure that justice is truly blind and that the process is fair for all.
