Euro NCAP and ANCAP renew close ties with signature of MOU in Australia

Today, Euro NCAP and ANCAP sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will cement the strong ties already in place between the two regional safety testing organizations. This agreement will see the two organizations collaborate in order to further improve the safety of road users, both in Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

Euro NCAP, established in 1997, is the European New Car Assessment Program, while ANCAP is the Australasian New Car Assessment Program. Both organizations have been independent authorities for assessing the safety of new cars and awarding vehicles a star rating based on safety features.

The MOU will provide a stronger platform for the two organizations to continue their work in the areas of new car assessment and consumer information. The agreement will see both organizations co-operate in the areas of research, data exchange, and advocacy for improved vehicle safety standards.

The two organizations have been working together since 2000, when Euro NCAP and ANCAP established a Memorandum of Understanding for the exchange of data and information on vehicle safety standards. Over the past two decades, the organizations have collaborated to promote increased safety standards and consumer education on vehicle safety.

The MOU will allow both organizations to continue their important work in the area of vehicle safety. This agreement will also pave the way for further collaboration between the two organizations, as they work to ensure that all new cars sold in Europe and the Asia Pacific region meet the highest standards of safety.

Euro NCAP and ANCAP share a common mission: to save lives and reduce the number of serious injuries on the roads. Through the MOU, the two organizations have pledged to continue their work in this area and to provide consumers with the best possible information on vehicle safety.

The two organizations will also collaborate to develop joint research projects and exchange data on vehicle safety standards. This data will assist Euro NCAP and ANCAP in their mission to ensure that all new cars comply with the highest standards of safety.

The Memorandum of Understanding between Euro NCAP and ANCAP is a testament to the organizations’ commitment to ensure that all new cars sold in Europe and the Asia Pacific region meet the highest standards of safety. This agreement will serve to strengthen the relationship between the two organizations and will further their joint efforts to save lives and reduce the number of serious injuries on the roads.
