Morena’s virtual presidential candidate formalized an extensive coalition with CATEM. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, emphasized at the XV Ordinary National Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM) the critical role of workers’ prosperity for the overall well-being of the country and its entrepreneurs.
During the event, she officially announced a coalition with CATEM as part of the collective efforts to involve diverse sectors in the transformation of public life in Mexico.
In her address, Sheinbaum highlighted the favorable moment the country is experiencing and underscored the imperative to advance the expansion of labor rights, preventing any regressions to the past. She emphasized that the shared objective is not to return to times of corruption and privileges but to continue with the Fourth Transformation.
Following the swearing-in of CATEM’s Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, she reiterated her commitment to defending workers’ rights and wages, emphasizing the essential collaboration with employers.
Pedro Haces Barba, Senator of the Republic and Secretary-General of CATEM, praised the achievements resulting from the collaboration between the working class and the 4T government, including the increase in the minimum wage and the elimination of subcontracting.
Senator Ricardo Monreal, who was also present at the event, underscored the importance of maintaining a positive relationship between workers and the government to continue expanding labor rights. “The pact, the alliance, we must make it now, at this moment with Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo,” emphasized Ricardo Monreal at the XV National Congress of CATEM.
