Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, underscored the significance of cooperation between workers and employers for the nation’s progress during the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She reaffirmed the commitment to broadening labor rights and avoiding a return to past practices.

In her address, Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that aligning goals and objectives is essential to sustain the transformation in Mexico’s public sphere. She stressed the necessity of continuing the Fourth Transformation, steering clear of previous eras of corruption and privilege.

Following the inauguration of the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation of CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated the pledge to ensure a dignified life for workers. She highlighted the importance of collaboration between the labor and business sectors, a strategy championed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Senator Pedro Haces Barba, the Secretary General of CATEM, noted the accomplishments achieved through the partnership between labor representatives and the 4T government.
