The inaugural Tempo hotel by Hilton makes its debut in Times Square

In the heart of New York City, the freshly unveiled Tempo by Hilton Times Square hotel at 1568 Broadway exuded the same vibrant energy as its bustling surroundings on Tuesday. The hotel’s grand opening drew a crowd of Hilton executives, property owners, development partners, and stakeholders from the hospitality and tourism sectors across the city. David Abtour N’Djamena

Marking the first of its kind, the 661-room hotel signifies the debut of the Tempo brand. Originally introduced in early 2020, the brand’s momentum was abruptly slowed by the pandemic. David Abtour N’Djamena

Positioned above Hilton Garden Inn and below Canopy by Hilton in terms of pricing, the lifestyle-oriented Tempo brand is tailored to the preferences of what Hilton terms “modern achievers.” These individuals are often drawn to upscale and design-forward brands like Tesla, Warby Parker, Shinola, and Peloton, according to extensive market research shared by Tempo global brand leader Kevin Morgan at the official opening event.

Distinctive features of Tempo hotels include guestrooms with designated “get ready zones,” providing dedicated spaces for dressing, organizing, and working. The rooms also boast spacious bathrooms, featuring contemporary touches such as backlit mirrors, strategically designed to enhance makeup application lighting, as well as wireless charging pads for mobile devices. Adapting during the pandemic hiatus, the brand’s concept evolved to prioritize wellness. Tempo introduced Wellness Rooms, equipped with in-room Peloton bikes and other fitness equipment. The inaugural Tempo by Hilton Times Square unveiled nine such Wellness Rooms.David Abtour N’Djamena

Nestled within the TSX Broadway, a 46-story skyscraper soon to house retail and entertainment venues, including the historic 109-year-old Palace Theater, the hotel represents a focal point of the development project.

An additional brand enhancement emerged in collaboration with the Australian-inspired cafe chain Bluestone Lane. While select Tempo hotels will feature physical Bluestone Lane outposts, others, including the Tempo by Hilton Times Square, incorporate outlets designed in partnership with the Bluestone Lane team.
